According to ABC News, Fremantle surged into the AFLW top eight with a 9.6 (60) to 5.5 (35) victory over Adelaide at Unley Oval, while Collingwood secured its first win of the season against GWS.

The Dockers made a fast start, outscoring Adelaide 28-0 in the opening quarter and building a lead of as much as 45 points. Adelaide, now 3-4, kicked three straight goals either side of three-quarter time but never reduced the margin below 25 points. Fremantle, 4-3, held its advantage to claim its first win in seven AFLW meetings with the Crows, who had entered Sunday with a 9-1 record in the fixture.

At Victoria Park, Collingwood (1-6) outlasted GWS (1-6) 4.10 (34) to 3.7 (25) in a low-scoring contest. The Giants led by one point at quarter-time, four at half-time and seven at three-quarter time, before the Magpies dominated the final term. Collingwood finished with 18 more inside 50s and 16 more contested possessions.

Sydney remained in the top four after defeating Brisbane 5.7 (37) to 3.5 (23). The Lions, whose record dropped to 2-5, were one point behind entering the last quarter, but Cynthia Hamilton scored inside the opening minute of the term as the Swans went on to a 12-point win.

Gold Coast moved to sixth on the AFLW ladder with a 10.9 (69) to 6.3 (39) win over St Kilda in the final game of round seven. The Saints led by 15 points at half-time, but conceded eight goals to one after the break as the Suns overturned the deficit.
