According to ABC News, a friend of former Sydney police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon told the NSW Supreme Court he asked what she would do if he said he had “killed somebody”, then asked whether she would help hide a body.

Georgia Cook said the conversation occurred over dinner in May 2023, after Lamarre-Condon had been upset by “breakup goodbye” messages with Jesse Baird. She told the jury she froze and replied no, before he laughed it off and said he had not done that but had done “something crazy”.

Cook said Lamarre-Condon told her he had watched Baird from outside his home, seen him with other men, and on another occasion watched him leave a key before entering the house. She said he told her he took a polaroid camera and ate an Easter egg, and that he had driven his mother’s car and worn a black hoodie so Baird would not recognise him.

Lamarre-Condon has pleaded not guilty to murdering Baird and Baird’s new boyfriend, Luke Davies, at Baird’s Paddington terrace in February 2024. He has also pleaded not guilty to aggravated break and enter over an alleged August 2023 incident at the property. The Crown alleges he stalked Baird and planned the killings; his lawyers have flagged self-defence, saying there were two separate struggles involving his service pistol.

The court was also shown CCTV compilations from the investigation, including footage said to show Lamarre-Condon near Baird’s home dressed as an Uber Eats delivery driver. The trial has completed its first week and is expected to run for three months.
