According to BBC News, former X Factor finalist Gabrielle Carrington has denied murdering social media influencer Klaudia Zakrzewska by allegedly running her over with a car in central London.

Carrington, 29, of Manchester, appeared at the Old Bailey by video link from Bronzefield prison. She denied murder and a charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to security guard Anoush Chyche. She was not asked to enter a plea to a third charge of driving with excess alcohol.

The alleged incident happened outside Inca nightclub in Argyll Street, Soho, at 04:30 BST on 19 April. Carrington had initially been charged with attempted murder, but the charge was changed after Zakrzewska died from her injuries six days later.

The court heard that Carrington allegedly arrived in Argyll Street, got out of her car and appeared to row with a male before more people became involved and security intervened. She is alleged to have returned to the vehicle, mounted the pavement and struck Zakrzewska. The vehicle allegedly then struck Chyche, who suffered “life-changing injuries”.

Judge Sarah Whitehouse KC confirmed that the trial will be held at the Old Bailey from 5 January. Carrington, who reached the X Factor live finals in 2013 as part of Miss Dynamix, appeared emotional during the hearing and was placed into custody afterwards.
