The Generation of Mysteries Orphanage in Gudele Block 8, South Sudan, stands as a remarkable beacon of hope for thousands of vulnerable children. Established in 2016 by Prophet Peter A.D of Stone International Church, the orphanage now cares for an estimated 5,000 to 6,000 orphans and vulnerable young people—providing not only shelter, but free education and the promise of a brighter future.

Within the same compound, the TB Joshua Primary and Secondary School offers free schooling to the children. Here, they are nurtured with strong values, guided in faith, and encouraged to grow into confident leaders and future servants of God. The vision of the orphanage is deeply tied to nation-building: shaping a generation capable of uplifting South Sudan through knowledge, compassion, and spiritual resilience.

Daily Struggles Amid an Inspiring Mission

Despite its powerful mission, the orphanage faces immense challenges. Food, clothing, and basic necessities are often in short supply. Infrastructure remains limited; classrooms double as sleeping quarters each night due to a lack of proper accommodation. These conditions highlight the urgency for expanded support and improved facilities to ensure the wellbeing of the children.

Stories of Strength and Survival

Among the many young lives shaped by the orphanage is seven-year-old Atong Mathiang. She arrived as a six-month-old baby after her mother passed away. Her father, unable to care for her, left her in the hands of the orphanage and has not returned in the seven years since. Atong’s story reflects the deep vulnerability faced by countless children across the country.

Another moving example is Joseph Ladu, now 14. Abandoned at the orphanage gate at the age of five, Joseph has grown into a determined and grateful young boy. He frequently expresses heartfelt appreciation to Prophet Peter A.D for his devotion and sacrifice in caring for the children. Joseph dreams of becoming a national leader like H.E. James Wani Igga, vowing to study hard and serve South Sudan with integrity.

A Call for Greater Support

The Generation of Mysteries Orphanage is a testament to resilience, faith, and the transformative power of community. It continues to uplift young lives and cultivate the leaders of tomorrow. Yet the ongoing shortages and daily hardships emphasise a critical need for increased support—from individuals, organisations, and the global community—to sustain this vital mission.

In the face of immense challenges, this orphanage remains a lifeline. With greater assistance, it can continue to change the future for thousands of children who rely on its care, protection, and guidance.
