NSW Labor has committed $30,000 towards access pathway improvement and spectator shelters and seating at Greenway Park, West Hoxton.
The funding will be provided to Liverpool Council to provide the necessary works, which will see amenities improved at the park.
Nathan Hagarty, Labor candidate for Leppington, has lauded the commitment as a win for the local community.
“As a Liverpool Councillor over the past 6 years, I know how important Greenway Park is for the local community and surrounding areas. It’s a great place to play community sport, exercise, and bring the family for much needed recreation,” Mr Hagarty said.
“This commitment from NSW Labor will help improve locals’ experiences at Greenway Park.
Being able to walk the tracks unimpeded, or watch their kids’ sport from the stands, will be a massive boon for local families.”
Mr Hagarty was proud to be able to make the announcement alongside the South West Tigers Junior Australian Football Club.
“The South West Tigers have been a staple club for our area for years. I’m proud to be able to support their work and the families that make up their club,” Mr Hagarty commented.
“I have always put community first. This is just another way that NSW Labor and myself are giving back to the communities who make up this diverse electorate.
“I will always fight for what our community needs and deserves. This upgrade to Greenway Park is just another way we are making Leppington a better place to live and raise a family.”
“Building community is at the heart of NSW Labor’s DNA. It’s time we had a fresh approach for Leppington, so that our local community can have the services and infrastructure we need and deserve.
