According to The Guardian, a reader has asked whether filling the tyres of every vehicle on the planet with carbon dioxide could lock up enough carbon to significantly reduce the amount in the atmosphere.

The question was submitted by Chris Coldwell of Lancaster to the newspaper’s long-running Notes and Queries series, in which readers answer questions posed by other readers. It frames the idea in relation to the climate emergency and asks whether consumerism could literally fill up the planet.
