Arabic version: هاري وميغان يخططان للعودة إلى المملكة المتحدة هذا الشهر
According to ABC News, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are planning to move from the United States to the United Kingdom this month. A source close to the couple confirmed the accuracy of British media reports, while spokespeople for Harry and Meghan had no immediate comment.
Their children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, are expected to begin at a British school in September. The family intend to relocate to a private, non-royal residence outside London, the BBC reported. The King was told of the move on Sunday, local time, and it is understood he welcomed the decision.
There are no public plans for Harry or Meghan to resume royal duties, which they stepped down from six years ago. Security remains a key issue: Harry previously challenged the British Home Office in court over restoring security coverage for his family but lost the case. The Sussexes are currently not eligible for a VIP security detail.
The planned move follows a July meeting between the family and King Charles that was widely viewed as a thaw in strained relations. Harry and Meghan had not been in the UK together since attending Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022. Harry’s relationship with Prince William remains strained, while King Charles is continuing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.
