A landmark pedestrian and cyclist path project has reached another key milestone with residents invited to have their say on the third and final stage of the Duck River Nature Trail.
The $28.5 million Duck River Nature Trail will stretch along 4 kilometres, providing accessible connections to Camellia, Silverwater, the M4 Shared Path and Parramatta River foreshore paths.
City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said community consultation is at the heart of major projects in the City.
“The views and needs of our community are top of mind when we plan local infrastructure,” Cr Zaiter said.
“For our community in Camellia and Silverwater, this nature trail will draw them to Duck River, helping them feel more connected to the natural environment.
“Local residents have told us how much they are looking forward to using the Duck River Nature Trail for open space and recreation.”
The consultation focuses on both the eastern and western banks of Duck River in Silverwater and Camelia, with the proposed works including concrete paths, boardwalks, a new bridge over Duck Creek and new bridge over the Derby Street stormwater channel.
Native planting, including trees, shrubs and mangrove species is planned as well as lighting in the north east sections of the river.
Public exhibition for the final stage (Stage Three) of the Duck River Nature Trail, is open from Tuesday 4 November until 5pm on Tuesday 9 December 2025.
