According to ABC News, Sydney Swans forward Isaac Heeney says he was “extremely thankful” to address the entire club after he and four teammates were suspended for a breach of standards last month.

Heeney, Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, James Jordon and Riley Bice attended exit meetings at the club’s Moore Park headquarters on Wednesday evening, following the end of Sydney’s 2026 season. Heeney said it was “really nice to address the whole club” and thanked members for giving the players their time and understanding.

Warner and Bice arrived first, before Heeney, Jordon and Blakey arrived together. Warner, when asked whether he would apologise to teammates, said: “I don’t know, we’ll wait and see.” Blakey, Jordon and Bice did not speak to reporters. The players were met by executive general manager of football Leon Cameron.

Sydney’s season ended with a preliminary-final loss to Fremantle after an undermanned Swans side defeated Brisbane in a qualifying final earlier in the month. Heeney recorded a team-high 26 votes at the Brownlow Medal, while winner Nick Daicos polled a record 47.

The club has not made a decision on the five players’ futures beyond this season. Warner and Jordon are contracted through 2027, Heeney and Bice through 2028, and Blakey through the 2031 season.
