A major upgrade of Doyle Ground in North Parramatta is a step closer, with the community invited to have its say on plans for a new sports pavilion, enhanced amenities, expanded cricket facilities and accessible parking.

The proposed Stage 2 upgrades will result in the construction of a larger sports pavilion which will replace the existing building and include modernised facilities for the many sports clubs that call the park home.

The project also includes a landscaped forecourt designed to create an attractive and welcoming entrance to the sporting precinct, featuring new trees, garden beds, seating and improved pedestrian connections.

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said the next phase of works demonstrate Council’s commitment to deliver modern sporting and community facilities designed to meet the needs of local clubs, players, volunteers and visitors for years to come.

“Doyle Ground is an important sporting hub for our community and these proposed upgrades will ensure the facilities keep pace with the needs of local clubs and residents,” Cr Zaiter said.

“The new pavilion, expanded cricket practice facilities and improved accessibility will provide high-quality amenities for players, volunteers, spectators and families who use the precinct each week.

“Once complete, Doyle Ground will be a premier destination for sports and recreation that our local community can enjoy for generations to come.”

The upgrades at Doyle Ground are part of Council’s long-term Heart of Play Master Plan, with construction expected to begin in late 2026.
