According to BBC News, captain Saskia Horley scored 117 and took 4-36 as Middlesex beat Glamorgan by 67 runs in the Metro Bank Women’s One Day Cup League Two final in Bristol.
Middlesex made 278-6 from 50 overs after Horley’s 86-ball century, which included 13 boundaries. She shared a 131-run fourth-wicket partnership with Finty Trussler, who made 43, while Pippa Sproul also scored 43. Several dropped catches and a missed stumping hurt Glamorgan’s efforts in the field.
Glamorgan lost captain Lauren Parfitt for eight in the fifth over and slipped to 72-4 after Horley removed Bethan Ellis and Megan Sturge. Bethan Gammon’s 58 and Abbey Freeborn’s 43 provided resistance in a 72-run partnership.
Hannah Davis took 3-36, including the wicket of Gammon, as Glamorgan were bowled out for 211 in 44.5 overs. Horley completed the win by having Gemma Porter caught by Trussler.
The result gave Middlesex their maiden One Day Cup title. Glamorgan, who won the League Two T20 Blast, were denied a double in their final match before turning professional.
