According to Al Jazeera, Yemen’s Houthis have seized the strategic Mayun Island, also known as Perim Island, in the Red Sea.

The move strengthens the rebels’ control over the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, a strategic waterway.

The Houthis also now control millions of dollars’ worth of seized US-made military hardware, Al Jazeera reported.
