His Grace, the Right Reverend Anba Joseph, Bishop of the Dioceses of Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Malawi, and Papal Vicar for the Dioceses of South Africa and Mozambique, presided yesterday morning, Saturday, July 11, over the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Virgin Mary and Saints Anba Samuel the Confessor and Pope Cyril VI in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. The service was attended by Father Bishoy Ramzy, priest of the church, and Father Michael Shironga, priest of St. Mark’s Church in Dima.
During the liturgy, His Grace blessed the baptism of seven local residents of the Zimbabwean city. After the Prayer of Reconciliation, he performed the rite elevating Subdeacon Joseph Anwar Sedqi to the rank of the diaconate for service in the church, amid the joy of the congregation and the church’s deacons.
After the Divine Liturgy concluded, His Grace Anba Joseph joined the congregation for an agape meal, observed and attended the Sunday School lessons with the children, and met with the youth and the women in an atmosphere of joy and spirituality.
