On Monday, April 13th, a joyful and festive atmosphere enveloped the courtyard of the Saint Mary and Saint Mina Cathedral in Sydney, Australia, as the community celebrated the Feast of Sham En-Nessim. The cathedral’s priests organized a spiritual day for this occasion, beginning with the Divine Liturgy known as the “Liturgy of the Disciples of Emmaus.”

After the service, hundreds of Copts from the nearby neighborhoods flocked to the cathedral to partake in the spiritual activities. The congregation, including young people and children, contributed by preparing meals featuring traditional foods that Egyptians abroad often miss, such as colored eggs, salted fish, and lupin beans.

Children and youth enjoyed various games and sports activities spread throughout the cathedral’s grounds, while adults engaged in competitions and social conversations, enhancing the communal spirit of the celebration.
