His Grace the Most Reverend Anba Youseff, Metropolitan of Texas, Florida and the Southern United States, presided over the Divine Liturgy on Sunday morning, September 27, at the Great St. Mark Church in Nashville, Tennessee. He was joined by His Grace Anba Basil, General Bishop of the Diocese, and the priests of the church. After the Prayer of Reconciliation, Anba Youseff performed the ordination of Deacon Mina Iskandar to the priesthood under the name “Fr. Mark,” to serve the people and the altar of that church, amid the joy of the congregation and the church’s altar servers.The church held a special celebration for the new priest, during which the honored clergy offered congratulations to the priests and people of the parish on the Feast of the Cross and the ordination. They also extended their congratulations to the congregation and to a number of Nashville priests who attended after finishing their services at their own churches. The new priest will spend the forty-day period at the Monastery of the Virgin Mary and St. Anba Mousa in Texas before beginning his priestly ministry at St. Mark’s Church.
