His Grace Bishop Serapion, the Metropolitan of Los Angeles, Southern California, and Hawaii, led the Divine Liturgy at St. Mina’s Church in Colton, east of Los Angeles. This event was attended by Bishops His Grace Bishop Abraham and His Grace Bishop Kyrillos, along with the church’s priests, in celebration of the Feast of the Entry of Christ into the Temple and in commemoration of the martyrdom of 21 Copts in Libya.
Following the prayer of reconciliation, the esteemed bishops performed the ordination ceremony for Deacon David Tadros, who will serve as a priest under the name “Father David” in the same church. The newly ordained priest then went to the Monastery of St. Paul the Anchorite in Merita, California, to spend the next forty days in seclusion.
After the completion of the forty days, it is noteworthy that His Grace Bishop Serapion, along with His Grace Bishop Abraham, laid hands on Deacon Sami Tadros, ordaining him to the rank of full deacon under the name Deacon David Tadros during the Divine Liturgy at the same church on the morning of Saturday, just two days ago.
