On Saturday morning, July 4th, His Grace Bishop Saraphim, the Bishop of the Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana Diocese, led the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Virgin Mary and St. Mark in Carmel, north of Indianapolis, Indiana. The service was attended by His Grace Bishop Demetrius, the Metropolitan of Malawi, Asyut, and Ashmoun, along with a number of priests from the diocese.

After the prayer of reconciliation, the esteemed bishops proceeded with the ordination of Deacon Bishoy Makari as a priest for the same church, taking the name “Father Bishoy.” They also ordained Deacon Gabriel Habib as a priest for the Church of St. Abanoub, taking the name “Father Gabriel.” Both will participate in the Divine Liturgy on Sunday morning, led by Bishop Demetrius.

Following the liturgy, they will immediately depart for the monastery to spend a period of 40 days, returning to their respective churches on Friday evening, August 14th, to resume their ministries.
