This morning, Friday, April 3rd, churches following the Western calendar celebrated Good Friday with solemn prayers. The courtyard of the Monastery and Church of Saint Charbel in the Punchbowl neighborhood, southwest of Sydney, Australia, witnessed a procession of the Stations of the Cross depicting the suffering and passion of Christ during His journey with the cross, culminating in the crucifixion scene.

The celebration was led by the head of the monastery, Father Asaad Lahoud, with the participation of the monks, Lebanese Ambassador to Australia Mrs. Mirna Khoury, Consul General Mr. Raymond Chamoun, and several Australian federal and local ministers, including Mr. Tony Burke, Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration, and former Prime Minister Scott Morrison, along with thousands of members from the Maronite Lebanese community.
