The Egyptian Interior Ministry revealed the circumstances behind the murder of a former Egyptian ambassador’s son inside his home, stabbed to death in a famous compound in Sheikh Zayed City, Giza.

The ministry said in a statement, on Saturday, that the body of an employee of a company abroad was found covered in stab wounds.

By questioning the victim’s father, he explained that his deceased son worked abroad, had been on vacation for a month and lived alone.

The efforts of the Public Security Sector, in cooperation with the Giza Security Directorate, resulted in identifying and arresting the perpetrators of the incident at their hiding place in Beheira Governorate.

It turned out that they were two students, residing at the same address.

When confronted, they confessed to committing the incident. Knowing that the victim was living alone, they had the idea of robbing him, so they climbed to the roof of the building where one of them lived, and were able to jump and enter the balcony of his residence.

They assaulted him with a taser and then stabbed him with a knife they had in their possession along with a dagger that belonged to the victim, until he died.

They then seized some belongings, including his mobile phone and car, and got rid of the knife and dagger used in the murder.

One of them admitted to disposing of the victim’s mobile phone to someone who was arrested and was in possession of the seized phone.

They also indicated the location of the seized car in a parking lot in one of the shopping centers in the area.
