Arabic version: إيران تزعم احتجاز طائرة مسيّرة شراعية أميركية قرب هرمز

According to Al Jazeera, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard says its navy struck a US-operated surface drone at the entrance of the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian authorities said they captured the device and claimed to have “thwarted an aggressive mission” involving the drone.

The drone is shaped like a sailboat, according to the report.

Washington had not commented on Iran’s claim as of September 11, 2026.
