Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks targeting United States military bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. This escalation follows US strikes on Iranian ports and islands located in the Strait of Hormuz. According to Al Jazeera, the IRGC announced it executed drone attacks on the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and the Ali Al Salem base in Kuwait, along with a long-range missile strike on an air base in Azraq, Jordan.

The IRGC stated that it targeted 21 US installations, successfully destroying four, including a hangar for F-35 fighter jets at the base in Jordan. Additionally, Iranian forces claimed to have shot down a US MQ-9 drone over the city of Jam. This latest round of hostilities erupted after US military operations struck Qeshm Island and other locations along the Iranian coastline, actions that were taken in response to the downing of a US Apache helicopter earlier on Tuesday.

In response to the missile strikes, Jordan’s military reported intercepting and shooting down five incoming missiles launched from Iran towards Azraq, stating that no injuries or material damage occurred. The attacks triggered air raid alarms in both Bahrain and Kuwait, prompting the Kuwaiti Army to announce it was intercepting “hostile aerial targets” within its airspace.

The IRGC has warned that its forces are prepared to deliver a “crushing and decisive” response to any further US military actions, asserting that Washington would be held accountable for the consequences of any escalation. As the situation develops, the potential for further conflict remains high, with both sides on alert.
