Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has expressed his congratulations to Lebanese leaders Nabih Berri and Qassem on the occasion of “Resistance and Liberation Day.” This day commemorates the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon in 2000.

According to LBC, Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s unwavering support for Lebanon, highlighting the importance of resistance against external pressures.

The remarks underline Iran’s continued commitment to its relationship with Lebanon, particularly in the context of regional dynamics and the ongoing challenges faced by the Lebanese state. Berri, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, and Qassem, a key figure in Iranian military strategy, have both been pivotal in fostering ties between Iran and Lebanon, especially through the support of Hezbollah.
