Arabic version: إسرائيل تواجه خيار الائتلاف بعد الانتخابات
According to Al Jazeera, Israel’s election has left the country’s leadership facing a choice between working with non-Zionist parties and accepting continued political gridlock.
Palestinian-led parties won 15% of the vote, creating what Al Jazeera described as a conundrum for Israel’s leadership. The result has put their role in potential coalition-building at the centre of the political discussion.
The bloc led by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received the most support from voters. However, it had not won enough seats in the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, to form a ruling coalition.
Ofer Cassif, an Israeli politician and member of one of the Palestinian-led parties, discussed the outcome with host Steve Clemons. Cassif argued that politics of exclusion keep Israel in political deadlock.
He said Israelis need to understand that the future must involve Jewish-Palestinian partnership rather than another form of exclusion. The programme was published by Al Jazeera on November 2, 2026.
