Israeli air raids in southern Lebanon have reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 20 individuals, including a civil defense rescuer, according to Lebanese state-run media. This escalation comes despite a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah.

The Lebanese health ministry indicated that one air strike in the town of Toura, located in the Tyre district, killed four people—two of whom were women—and injured eight others. Rescue operations are ongoing, with reports of a missing girl believed to be trapped under rubble.

Additional strikes occurred in various districts, including Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil, and Sidon, leading to further casualties. An Israeli drone attack targeted a vehicle in the Hasbaya district, resulting in the death of a civil defense member.

Avichay Adraee, the Israeli army’s spokesperson, announced new evacuation orders for several towns in southern Lebanon, urging residents to leave the area. Fighting between Hezbollah and Israeli forces has intensified, with Hezbollah claiming responsibility for multiple attacks in response to Israeli actions.

As military activity escalates, planned negotiations between Israel and Lebanon are set to take place in Washington on May 14 and 15. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun is expected to lead the delegation, aiming to solidify the ceasefire and address key issues such as halting attacks and the return of displaced persons. According to Al Jazeera, the Lebanese government remains under pressure regarding its negotiations with Israel, reflecting the complex dynamics within the country.
