Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon have resulted in the deaths of at least six individuals, coinciding with new evacuation orders issued by the Israeli army. According to Al Jazeera, the strikes targeted multiple locations, including al-Namiriya and al-Duweir, where young men were killed while riding motorcycles.

In addition to the motorcycle fatalities, a Syrian man was killed in Abba, and another individual died in Jebchit due to Israeli attacks. A paramedic lost his life during a drone strike while responding to an earlier air raid in Arab Salim. Furthermore, an airstrike in Bazouriyeh resulted in one additional death, as reported by Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).

Israel’s military has issued 16 evacuation orders in the region, with reports indicating that strikes occurred both before and after these orders were given. Al Jazeera correspondent Obaida Hitto described the attacks as very violent, targeting densely populated areas that are not near the front lines.

Hezbollah has responded to the ongoing Israeli bombardment by conducting attacks on Israeli military positions, including drone strikes and rocket barrages. Despite an ongoing ceasefire, exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah have continued since the conflict escalated in early March. The Health Ministry reports that Israeli airstrikes have led to 3,151 deaths and 9,571 injuries in Lebanon since the conflict began.

Civilians in southern Lebanon face difficult choices as they navigate the dangers of remaining close to their homes or seeking long-term displacement. Hezbollah’s secretary-general, Naim Qassem, has urged the Lebanese government to reconsider its stance towards the resistance and criticized the lack of a stronger response to Israeli actions.
