Arabic version: غارات الطائرات الإسرائيلية تودي بحياة خمسة أشخاص في غزة الوسطى والجنوبية
At least five Palestinians have been killed in Israeli drone attacks targeting police posts in the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip and the al-Mawasi area in Khan Younis in the south. This incident occurred as Israel continues its more than two-year genocidal war on the devastated enclave, which has faced widespread condemnation.
According to Al Jazeera, the attacks took place overnight into Friday and were described by Hamas as undermining ongoing mediation efforts during a purported “ceasefire” phase that Israel has violated almost daily since October 10.
Medical sources at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis reported that three bodies and several wounded individuals arrived following an Israeli military strike on a police checkpoint at the al-Maslakh intersection in al-Mawasi. The strike occurred in an area outside Israeli military control, with some wounded described in critical condition.
In the central Gaza Strip, two Palestinians were killed and others injured in a similar Israeli drone strike targeting a police post at the entrance to the Bureij refugee camp. Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem criticized the ongoing violence, stating that the rising death toll reflects Israel’s blatant disregard for mediation efforts and the role of the Peace Council.
Qassem emphasized that Israel continues its war of extermination against the Palestinian people, noting that discussions among guarantor states about stopping the war lack any real substance on the ground.
