According to Al Jazeera, at least six people were killed and dozens injured in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip despite an ongoing ceasefire. Gaza’s Ministry of Health said hospitals received 34 injured people over the previous 24 hours.

In Khan Younis, health officials told Reuters that an Israeli air strike killed a man and an eight-year-old child. The strike hit a tent encampment for people displaced by Israel’s siege, which has destroyed the homes of more than 1.2 million people, or nearly 60 percent of Gaza’s population.

In central Gaza’s Bureij refugee camp, an air strike on a house killed an 18-month-old baby and injured eight other people. In Gaza City, a strike killed a Palestinian man riding a bicycle and wounded 10 others.

Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary said a separate Wednesday evening attack in Gaza City’s Shati refugee camp damaged a building and surrounding makeshift tent camps. She said 35 families sheltering in the tents were left homeless after the explosions.

The attacks came as Hamas officials met mediators from Egypt, Qatar and Turkiye in Cairo to discuss the ceasefire’s second phase. Talks have stalled over Israel’s failure to withdraw from Gaza and halt attacks, and Hamas’s refusal to disarm under Israeli demands. Since the October 2025 ceasefire agreement, Khoudary said more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 3,000 injured. Since October 7, 2023, Israeli attacks have killed at least 73,341 Palestinians and wounded 174,086 others.
