According to Al Jazeera, Israeli tourism in Cyprus is surging, while investment by Israelis is growing across multiple industries. The Newsfeed report, published on October 24, 2026, says the trend is unsettling some Cypriots.

Nearly 600,000 trips by Israelis were recorded last year, the report says. The increase in visitors is occurring alongside expanding Israeli investment, adding to concern among Cypriots about the effect on their communities.

Cypriots told Al Jazeera that the influx is threatening local businesses and pushing communities out of their neighbourhoods. The report also says Israeli politics has broken through in Cyprus.

Al Jazeera’s Nils Adler reported on the concerns surrounding the growing presence of Israeli tourists and investors on the island.
