IWAA is a not for profit organisation with delivering services to the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities. IWAA provides Aged Care, Disability Support Services, Community Development, Settlement Support Services and Family Violence Services in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia through receipt of funding from State and Federal Government. We currently service over 500 clients, we have 120 employees and 41 different languages in NSW alone.

The Australia Talks National Survey-2021 found around three in four Australians with non-European ancestry say they’ve been discriminated against because of their ethnicity. This event aims to strengthen and unite the community and build a connected and socially cohesive community.

To celebrate International day of Peace on 21st September2023, IWAA is proposing to conduct a multicultural peace walk on Sunday 24th September 2023 from 10.00am – 3.00pm at Gough Whitlam Park, Earlwood that ends with an afternoon of multicultural food, arts and crafts, dancing and music.

The theme of the event will be Peace and Inclusion across all cultures as we celebrate our diverse community. We will welcome participants from Australia’s First Nations and multicultural Communities, as well as those from different faiths including Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Judaism, Buddhist etc. This will also include refugees and migrants who have originated from war torn countries and are now enjoying a peaceful life in Australia.
