According to BBC News, Jack Shepherd has been jailed for 20 months and given a further four years on extended licence after violently assaulting his former girlfriend.

The 38-year-old pleaded guilty at Isleworth Crown Court in July to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and damaging property. The offences occurred in February and June 2025 and led to his recall to prison.

In February, Shepherd admitted pinning the woman down and punching her several times, causing bruising to her arm and upper leg. In June, after becoming angry over a burned pizza, he hit her on the left breast with barbecue tongs, causing a permanent scar, a prosecution summary said.

His barrister, George Payne, said Shepherd was ashamed and that his behaviour was driven by alcohol abuse. Judge Martin Edmunds said he had no faith in Shepherd’s remorse, describing a pattern of offending followed by apologies and excuses. The new sentence will run concurrently with his existing term, and Shepherd is due for release in January 2029.

Shepherd was originally jailed for six years and six months in 2018 for the manslaughter of Charlotte Brown, who died after his speedboat struck a submerged tree trunk on the River Thames during a date in December 2015. He later received a further four-year sentence for an attack on a barman in 2018.
