According to ABC News, Luke Jackson is determined to help Fremantle win its first AFL premiership as the Dockers prepare for a qualifying final against Hawthorn next Thursday night. The Western Australian said he grew up supporting Fremantle and wants to be part of the first group to deliver the club’s maiden crown.

Jackson previously won a premiership with Melbourne in 2021, his second AFL season, when the club ended a 57-year drought. He said he has allowed himself to dream about lifting the cup with Fremantle, while crediting coach Justin Longmuir for keeping the squad focused on the immediate task.

Fremantle enters the finals after a historic home-and-away campaign. The Dockers won a club-record 14 consecutive games, recorded more wins in a season than ever before and finished two games clear of Sydney at the top of the ladder. The finish secured two home finals and the double chance.

Jackson has produced career highs in disposals, goals, hit-outs, tackles, clearances and contested possessions in 2026. He was selected in the All Australian side for the first time alongside Fremantle teammates Josh Treacy, Shai Bolton, Murphy Reid and Jordan Clark. While he said the recognition was something he cherishes, Jackson said the premiership remains the team’s main goal.

The ruckman was also named in the All Australian team with former Melbourne mentor Max Gawn, who claimed a record ninth blazer. Jackson said he looks up to Gawn’s consistency and hopes to maintain that level in the years ahead, but his immediate focus is delivering a historic flag for Fremantle supporters.
