Arabic version: يانيك سينر يحقق لقب بطولة ميامي المفتوحة ويقلص الفجوة مع ألكاراز
Jannik Sinner has made history by winning the Miami Open, adding to his recent Indian Wells victory and completing the ‘Sunshine Double’ without losing a set. Sinner, 21, defeated Czech 21st seed Jiri Lehecka 6-4, 6-4 in a rain-interrupted final, showcasing his dominance in the tournament.
According to BBC News, Sinner’s victory emphasizes the gap between him and the rest of the ATP Tour, as he now sits just 1,190 points behind world number one Carlos Alcaraz. This win marks Sinner’s third consecutive title at Masters events, a feat shared only with Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.
Sinner’s performance in Miami highlighted his improved service game, as he hit 70 aces throughout the tournament, the highest of his career in a three-set event. His ability to serve under pressure was evident when he faced three break points early in the match against Lehecka but responded with five consecutive strong serves.
As Sinner celebrates his title, Alcaraz is back training on clay, preparing to defend his French Open title. The competition between Sinner and Alcaraz is expected to intensify as they both aim for top rankings in the upcoming European clay-court events.
