The Hon Jason Clare, MP for Blaxland and Minister for Education and Youth of Australia, thanked his election team and all the volunteers who helped in his election campaign in a community lunch at the Chester Hill Community Centre on Saturday, 13 August 2022. The event was attended by dozens of volunteers, in addition to a host of dignitaries including Lynda Voltz MP for Auburn, Jihad Dib MP for Lakemba, Mayor Khal Asfour and Councilors Rachelle Harika and Chris Cahill of the City of Canterbury Bankstown, alongside many others.
The event started off with a Welcome to Country followed by a heartfelt thank you from Jason Clare to all the volunteers who played a vital role in his re-election. During his speech, he highlighted the importance of education and thanked all the educators in the room, including former teacher and school principal Jihad Dib MP. He also mentioned the aboriginal referendum being planned soon and its importance to the indigenous populations of Australia.
There were also speeches by Jihad Dib, Lynda Voltz and Khal Asfour which discussed the disparity between Labor and Liberal areas in NSW. They also stressed on the importance of the state election coming up in March and in which these volunteers would again play a vital role in the hopes of bringing in a Minns Labor Government to NSW.
