In the first game between Lebanon and Jordan in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers, the Jordanian team came out on top after a somewhat dominating performance.

The Jordanian team maintained the lead since the start of the game, while the Lebanese players struggled to score efficiently; however, they managed to end the first half only down by 2.

On the other hand, the third quarter was all about Dar Tucker as he managed to help his team increase their lead to 15 points.

Even though the Lebanese team tried to rally back in the fourth quarter cutting the lead to just 5 points, the Jordanian offense was insurmountable as they finish the game with an 11 point deficit 74-63.

Dar Tucker was undoubtedly the man of the match scoring an efficient 29 points, helped by Fenerbahçe’s center Ahmad Dwairi who filled the stat sheet with 11 points 12 boards 5 assists and 3 steals.

The Lebanese team struggled to find rhythm on offense in front of Jordan’s physical defense, they seemed lost and missed open shots down the stretch. They were lead in scoring by Wael Arakji who scored 12 points and went 5 of 13 from the field tied with the young Yousef Khayat who’s outplaying older and more experienced national players with an efficient 12 points making all 4 of his shots including 2 three pointers.

In the same group the Saudis blew out the Indonesian team winning by a margin of 29 points.

Up next, on Sunday 27th of February, the Jordanian team will face the struggling Indonesians in Amman which figures to be an easy game for Jordan.

Lebanon on the other hand will look to bounce back against the streaking Saudi team who won their last 2 games and will try to push that streak to 3 games at home on Sunday.
