According to BBC News, the 34-year-old Italy international claimed the guard made his 11-year-old daughter cry during breakfast.
Jorginho stated that his daughter, a fan of pop singer Chappell Roan, had simply smiled at the artist, who was dining nearby. The situation escalated when a large security guard approached their table and spoke aggressively to Jorginho’s wife [Catherine Harding] and daughter, accusing them of disrespecting others. Jorginho described the incident as “completely disproportionate” and expressed concern for his daughter, who was left shaken and in tears.
In response to the allegations, Roan expressed her sorrow for the mother and child involved, stating she was unaware of the incident and that it did not involve her “own personal security.” She emphasized that she did not ask for the guard to confront Jorginho’s family and criticized the assumption that fans could have ill intentions.
Jorginho, who has played for elite clubs and won numerous titles, including the European Championship with Italy, highlighted the importance of respecting fans. He criticized the treatment his daughter received, stating, “What happened there was not that. It was just a child admiring someone.” He concluded his post with a strong message, urging Roan to recognize the value of her fans.
