Arabic version: أداء كين مع بايرن يعزز فرصه في الكرة الذهبية
According to BBC News, Harry Kane delivered another influential performance for Bayern Munich in their 2-2 Champions League draw with Arsenal, adding to his case for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
With fewer than 25 minutes played, Kane took a Bayern goal-kick and sent an 80-yard pass upfield as the hosts sought an opener. Former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha said Vincent Kompany had given the England captain a level of trust he had probably not previously received under another manager.
After Eberechi Eze put Arsenal ahead, Kane set up Alphonso Davies with a pass around Jurrien Timber to help Bayern level. Kane then scored from the penalty spot midway through the second half, although Declan Rice struck late to secure a draw for Arsenal.
The goal was Kane’s 16th against Arsenal and took his Bayern total to 156 in 158 appearances since joining from Tottenham in 2023. It also made him only the second player in Champions League history to score in 10 consecutive matches, after Cristiano Ronaldo’s run of 11 for Real Madrid between June 2017 and April 2018.
Kane, 33, was named on the 30-man Ballon d’Or shortlist in September. The winner, selected by an international jury of 100 journalists, is due to be announced on Monday. Rice called Kane “ridiculous” and said his numbers and year had been remarkable, while Kane said: “It would be amazing to win.”
