Arabic version: أبناء خامنئي يحضرون صلاة الجنازة في طهران
Funeral prayers for the late Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei were held in Tehran on July 5, 2026. His sons, Masoud, Meysam, and Mostafa, were present at the ceremony, which also saw attendance from Ahmad Vahidi, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Notably absent was Mojtaba Khamenei, the late leader’s son and designated successor. Iranian media reported that his absence was due to security concerns stemming from reported Israeli threats against him.
According to Middle East Eye, the atmosphere during the prayers was somber, with many attendees expressing their condolences and respect for Khamenei’s legacy.
