In “Bad Company,” Puru portrays Kat, who serves as the first point of call at a theatre on the brink of collapse after years of being run into the ground by its nepotistic, spendthrift artistic director Margie. The show features a comedic take on the challenges faced by the arts industry, particularly under the management of a new chief executive aiming to save the financially troubled institution. Puru’s performance has been noted for its understated humor, showcasing their talent in a role that is only their second acting gig.
Puru’s shift to acting was somewhat unexpected, as they had previously focused on their music career, which included a number-one hit and collaborations with notable artists.
