Nathan Hagarty, Labor candidate for Leppington, has announced that an elected NSW Labor government will invest in upgrading parks in Eagle Vale and Raby to make them safer for children and families.

The announcement includes an upgrade of up to $45,000 to Topaz Park, Eagle Vale for landscaping improvements and a shade structure, as well as $45,000 for shade sails at Spitfire Park, Raby. The funding will be provided to Campbelltown Council to deliver the infrastructure.

Mr Hagarty said that it was imperative that local and state governments worked together to deliver much-needed improvements to local parks and green space.

“I got into politics because of the lack of recreational space for families in our local area. It’s part of what drives me to continue fighting for local residents every day,” Mr Hagarty said.

“Local families have been suffering for too long under a government that has neglected Western Sydney.

“Funding these projects with Campbelltown Council is a no-brainer. Local families in Eagle Vale and Raby deserve their fair share when it comes to quality parks and play equipment.

“These upgrades to local parks will make them more sun-safe and provide a better playing experience for children. It’s a credit to Chris Minns and the NSW Labor team that safety and recreation are being put at the forefront of this campaign.”

Mr Hagarty reiterated his commitment for fighting for our fair share in the South-West.

“Over the past few months, I have met so many local families at their homes, at local shopping centres and at transport hubs. They have one message for the NSW Government – give us our fair share,” he said.

“We need parks, roads, infrastructure and public transport that serves the needs of our local community. I am committed to being a strong local voice that will fight for the needs of our local area.

“It’s time for a fresh approach for local families in the Leppington electorate. Only Labor has the plan, energy and commitment to deliver the services local residents need and deserve.”
