The Embassy of Lebanon in Canberra has issued an urgent appeal to Lebanese institutions, associations, and community organisations across Australia to support humanitarian relief efforts in Lebanon, particularly for displaced families affected by the ongoing crisis.

In a circular released on 10 March 2026, the embassy called on members of the Lebanese diaspora and community groups to assist by sharing and publishing official donation details that will allow individuals and organisations to contribute directly to trusted relief efforts on the ground.

The appeal comes at a time when many vulnerable families in Lebanon are facing difficult humanitarian conditions. The embassy emphasised the importance of coordinated support from the global Lebanese community to ensure that urgent aid reaches those most in need.

To facilitate transparent and direct assistance, the embassy provided banking details for two key humanitarian organisations actively supporting displaced populations in Lebanon: the Lebanese Red Cross and the High Relief Commission of Lebanon.

The Lebanese Red Cross account is held with Banque Libano-Francaise S.A.L. at the Gefinor branch in Beirut. Donations can be directed to the account titled “Conflict 2026” under the beneficiary name Lebanese Red Cross. The organisation remains one of the country’s most critical emergency response bodies, providing medical services, disaster relief, and humanitarian assistance across Lebanon.

The High Relief Commission account is held with Banque du Liban under the account name “High Relief Commission – Fresh”, with contributions accepted in USD fresh funds. The commission works under the Lebanese government to coordinate large-scale humanitarian responses and emergency relief programs.

According to the embassy, sharing these official donation channels helps ensure that assistance reaches credible organisations capable of delivering rapid support to displaced communities. The appeal encourages Lebanese organisations in Australia to circulate the information within their networks and community groups to maximise the impact of the initiative.

The call also reflects the ongoing role of the Lebanese diaspora in supporting their homeland during times of crisis. Community organisations in Australia have historically played a significant role in mobilising aid and fundraising campaigns whenever Lebanon faces humanitarian challenges.

The embassy concluded its message by encouraging solidarity and collective action, reminding the community that even small contributions can make a meaningful difference for families currently facing displacement and hardship.
