Lebanon and Syria have formed a new committee aimed at enhancing cooperation and coordination along their shared border. This initiative was launched by Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Bassam al Shaibani, and his Syrian counterpart, Mohamad al-Rahhal.
According to LBC, the committee is expected to address various issues related to border management and security. The establishment of this committee reflects both countries’ commitment to strengthening their bilateral relations.
During the launch, both ministers expressed optimism about the potential outcomes of this cooperation. They emphasized the importance of effective border coordination to enhance security and facilitate trade between Lebanon and Syria.
The newly formed committee is seen as a significant step towards improving relations between the two neighboring countries, which have historically shared complex ties. The ministers highlighted that regular meetings will be held to ensure the effective implementation of the committee’s objectives.
