Lebanon has enabled biometric passport fingerprinting outside the country for the first time. This move aims to enhance the security and authenticity of the country’s passport issuance process.

According to LBC, the new service will allow Lebanese citizens residing abroad to provide their biometric data at designated locations, streamlining the passport application process.

The biometric system is expected to improve the identification and verification of applicants, thereby reducing the risk of identity fraud. This initiative reflects Lebanon’s commitment to modernizing its administrative processes and enhancing the safety of its travel documents.
