According to The Guardian, Leeds United ended Tottenham Hotspur’s winning run with a 1-0 Premier League victory at Elland Road. Noah Okafor scored the decisive goal 97 seconds after coming off the bench, with fellow substitute Harry Wilson providing the assist. The goal survived a VAR check for handball in the build-up.

Leeds secured their first win in six top-flight games. Tottenham were described as poor, while manager Roberto De Zerbi was set to be unhappy that Leeds wing-back Jayden Bogle was not sent off in the first half. Elsewhere, Everton came from behind to beat Coventry City 3-1, with Thierno Barry scoring twice to take his Premier League tally to five and six goals.

Women’s Super League leaders Manchester City beat West Ham 5-0, extending their advantage over Chelsea to two points. Khadija “Bunny” Shaw completed a hat-trick on her 150th appearance for City, while Aoba Fujino and Iman Beney also scored. Chelsea were held 1-1 at home by Everton.

In the FA Cup first round, York City’s Ollie Pearce scored inside 10 seconds against Northampton and later added a second goal. Burton led AFC Rushden & Diamonds 1-0 through Will Collar, while the eighth-tier visitors were identified as the lowest-ranked team in this season’s competition. Other early leads included Crewe against AFC Wimbledon, Bradford City against Marine, MK Dons against Swindon Town and Exeter away to Huddersfield Town.

Arsenal and Hull City were scoreless at the Emirates in the live updates, where Hull goalkeeper John Egan headed a corner into the side-netting and Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya saved from Elliot Stroud. Hull chose not to risk Mo Belloumi because of a glute injury. At Craven Cottage, Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno saved a Harvey Barnes effort for Newcastle, while Lucas Hornicek stopped Oscar Bobb’s curled attempt before Gonzalo Garcia missed a free header from the resulting corner.
