According to BBC News, Champions League analysts Stephen Warnock and Guillem Balague believe Liverpool remain a work in progress under Andoni Iraola following a 3-2 defeat to Fenerbahce.

The analysts pointed to Liverpool’s defensive weaknesses as one reason the team are still trying to find their identity. The Champions League analysis also highlighted experimentation in the side, including the decision to play Bradley Barcola up front.

Warnock and Balague’s assessment linked those defensive issues and tactical experimentation to the challenge facing Iraola’s Liverpool. The defeat to Fenerbahce provided the backdrop for the discussion of a team still developing its approach.
