Community advocates and media figures convened in Revesby last Tuesday, 31 March, for a focused roundtable hosted by Kylie Wilkinson MP – Member for East Hills. The session brought together key voices from across the region to exchange insights, raise local concerns, and hear directly about ongoing developments shaping the electorate.
Representatives from a range of platforms were present, including Mamdouh Sukkarieh of The World Observer, Faten El-Dana and Ziad Eldaoud from 2MFM Radio, and Nadia Faour of Nadia’s Narratives. Oz Arab Media was also represented by Charbel Tadros. The gathering fostered a collaborative environment where media and community leaders could engage in meaningful dialogue.
During the discussion, Ms Wilkinson outlined progress made across the electorate in recent years, while also sharing plans for upcoming initiatives. Education emerged as a major focus, with updates provided on enhancements to facilities at Sir Joseph Banks High School and Padstow TAFE, alongside broader improvements across schools in Condell Park, Revesby, and East Hills.
Infrastructure and community spaces were also highlighted, with investments in recreational areas such as the Milperra multi-sport court, East Hills Girls basketball court, and the Padstow Heights playground contributing to increased opportunities for local residents. Plans for a new hospital were also discussed, signalling continued growth and development within the region.
The meeting offered an open forum for questions, allowing attendees to raise issues directly and receive detailed responses. Participants described the session as both constructive and insightful, noting the value of direct engagement and ongoing collaboration between elected representatives and the communities they serve.
