A vibrant day of discovery, diversity and family fun planned for 4 May 2025
Families across the Macarthur region are invited to dive into a world of colour, culture and creativity at the Macarthur Multicultural Children’s Festival on Sunday 4 May 2025 at Koshigaya Park, Campbelltown.
Running from 10:30am to 5:00pm, the festival promises an action-packed day of non-stop entertainment, hands-on cultural activities, and global flavours — all designed to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of our local community.
Recognised as South-West Sydney’s premier multicultural event for children, the festival attracts thousands of families each year and continues to grow as one of the most beloved community events in the Macarthur region.
“This festival is all about bringing people together through shared experiences,” said Festival Founder and Co-Director Brian Laul.
“Whether it’s dancing to rhythms from across the world, tasting new foods, or having your name written in a different language, there are endless ways for children and families to connect, learn, and celebrate what makes our community so wonderfully diverse.”
The festival features a Cultural Discovery Trail, where children can grab a passport and collect stamps as they explore different cultural stalls, learning about colours, sounds, tastes and traditions from around the globe, with prizes to be won along the way.
There’ll also be games, crown-making with native flowers, kite decorating and flying, and the chance to meet beloved characters including cosplay superheroes, princesses, Star Wars icons, and Abby the Koala, who’ll be sharing fun facts about local wildlife.
Another big festival highlight is the large Cultural Costume Parade with marching bands and pageantry at 1.30pm that’s followed by a flash mob anthem, “I Am Australian”.
“We believe children who play together grow up to live together in harmony,” Laul added.
“And this festival is where that spirit begins — with joy, laughter and meaningful moments that help us all appreciate the beautiful cultures around us.”
Festival Co-Director Ronna Guzman echoed the sentiment saying, “This is a grassroots celebration of multiculturalism that invites everyone to take part. We see families from all walks of life enjoying the day, and we’re proud to create a space where children can feel proud of who they are, and curious about who others are too.”
Families can also enjoy roaming performers, interactive cultural displays, sports clinics with the West Tigers, and plenty of photo opportunities in front of colourful country banners and cultural displays.
Entry is free, and all are welcome to be part of this special event that places children at the heart of a diverse, united community.
