Police have arrested a man after a paramedic was stabbed at a fast-food restaurant in western Sydney.

Officers from the Campbelltown Police Area Command were called to the scene of the attack on Queen Street about 5.30am on Friday.

Police said the male paramedic was treated for stab wounds before being transferred to Liverpool hospital for further treatment.

Officers established a crime scene at the restaurant and arrested a man before taking him to Campbelltown police station for questioning.
