A man has been arrested after he allegedly escaped from hospital care following a stabbing incident in Merrylands, New South Wales. The incident occurred on Saturday, February 17, 2026, when emergency services were called to a home on Henson Street after reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found a 36-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was treated at the scene before being transported to Westmead Hospital for further medical care. Shortly after, police apprehended a 35-year-old man in connection with the incident. The suspect was charged with several offenses, including wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
