A man has been arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts in connection with a series of attacks targeting the Jewish community in London. The 37-year-old suspect was arrested on Sunday at an address near Barnstaple, Devon, and is currently being questioned at a police station in London. This arrest is part of an ongoing counter-terrorism investigation into incidents involving synagogues and ambulances.

According to BBC News, the Metropolitan Police have made a total of 26 arrests since an attack on Hatzola ambulances in Golders Green on 23 March. The investigation has also uncovered other incidents, including an ignited container thrown at a Persian-language media organization and jars of a non-hazardous substance found in Kensington Gardens.

The police have charged eight individuals with arson-related offenses, while one has been convicted of arson. An Islamist group suspected of having Iranian links, known as Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia, has claimed responsibility for the attacks on the ambulances and other incidents across the UK and Europe.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has voiced concerns regarding the use of proxies by various states to conduct criminal activities. He made these remarks during a visit to Kenton United Synagogue, which was targeted with a petrol bomb earlier this month. Sir Ephraim Mirvis, Chief Rabbi at Kenton United Synagogue, expressed that the Jewish community is filled with anxiety and has called for a commitment to combat antisemitism in the UK.
