According to BBC News, Most Valuable Promotions will mark its fifth anniversary on 29 August with an all-women’s main card led by Mikaela Mayer’s fight against Chantelle Cameron. The bout will unify the WBA, WBC and WBO light-middleweight belts, while Caroline Dubois will defend her WBC and WBO lightweight titles against Amelia Moore.

MVP began with events headlined by co-founder Jake Paul against MMA fighter Tyron Woodley in Cleveland in 2021 and then Tampa later that year. Its anniversary card at Birmingham’s BP Pulse Arena reflects the promotion’s growing focus on women’s boxing. Cameron, who joined MVP from Queensberry last year, returns to the venue after appearing there in a co-main event against Patricia Berghult in November 2024.

Cameron said MVP had delivered the opportunities it promised, including a world title shot and the Mayer fight. She previously boxed under Matchroom and Queensberry, and said she lost momentum after her two fights with Katie Taylor. Dubois said the respect shown to female boxers had been the biggest change she had seen, describing women’s boxing as no longer treated as a gimmick or side attraction.

Dubois, Cameron, Mayer and Terri Harper are among the women signed to MVP, alongside Amanda Serrano, Alycia Baumgardner and Ellie Scotney. Harper, who lost to Dubois on points in April, faces Miranda Reyes earlier on the anniversary card. Cameron said she wanted three-minute rounds for women, while Mayer said the sport needed time to develop after women were not allowed to compete in the Olympics until 2012.
